According to the preliminary monthly results, the annual aggregate after-tax profits of banks in Q4 2025 will reach 1.49% of Czech GDP, which is above the long-term pre-forecast average of 1.43% from 2008-2019. Over the last five years, i.e. from Q3 2021, the average annual profitability has reached 1.38% of GDP. The highest profitability relative to GDP was achieved by the banking sector in 2012, i.e. 1.56%, while the lowest ratio of 0.81% was recorded in 2020.
