Annual aggregate after-tax profits of banks in Q4 2025 fell to 1.48% of Czech GDP from 1.56% in the previous quarter (a year ago, the annual aggregate reached 1.51%) and was above the long-term pre-Covind average of 1.43% from 2008-2019. Over the last five years, i.e. from Q4 2021, the average annual profitability has reached 1.38% of GDP. The banking sector achieved the highest profitability relative to GDP in 2012 at 1.56%, while the lowest ratio of 0.81% was recorded in 2020.
