Industrial production has shown weak output growth since the end of 2018. \Based on February 2025 data, industrial production this year was -0.3% below the pre-2019 level, compared with -1% last year. In the case of manufacturing, output is at 101.8% of its 2019 level (102% last year) and 115.4% in the case of automotive (after 118% last year).
In February 2025, industrial production grew at a 1.2% annualised (seasonally adjusted) rate, and year-to-date growth this year is 0.2% compared to -1% in the same period last year. These year-on-year changes amounted to -0.1% y/y in manufacturing in February and -0.6% so far in 2025 (after -0.9% in the same period last year), while the automotive industry posted growth of 0.5% y/y in February this year and has averaged -2.1% so far this year after -1.7% last year.
